A half-century-old gun club in Vermont is suing the town of Williston over noise ordinance citations, which, owners say, violate members’ gun rights.
An interesting aspect of the action of the town is that their action is in conflict with the town’s own firearm discharge ordinance. The town is not even complying with its own firearm discharge ordinance.
2004 Noise Ordinance. 2006, 24 VSA 2291(8) and 10 VSA 5227 amended for range protection. 2011 town
firearm discharge ordinance amended to incorporate the cited 2006 statute. NCSC did not want to sue, it town’s illegal town court citations forced the lawsuit.
